Saturday night Katie and I went for dinner, and it was her inaugural Korean Barbecue experience! As such, she was pretty daring and ordered the squid, and I stuck with the tried and true.. classic thin marinated spencer steak. Yum yum. The first piece of squid was sort of a big flat floppy sheet, like a part of a big squid that was cut into smaller pieces with a scissor. After gnawing on a few of the rubbery bits in between the lovely bulgolgi, we decided that we didn't love it. Then toward the end of the grilling, the waitress came to the table to attack the all in one, smaller squid that still lay raw on a plate. She began to cut the tentacles into pieces, and then when she got to the top, she just clipped it's head off. It landed right in front of Katie, like a sacrificial prize rolling towards her in commemoration her first time at the grill in a Korean restaurant. We loved it.
