Baby Power

A celebration for beautiful Megan, collaboratively realized by her nearest and dearest. We went with a Chinatown theme for baby Shih, and enjoyed food, drinks and scrumptious cupcakes while set above the green valley in Dana's pretty, mid-century home. Jack's mom gave Megan the solid gold heart that her grandmother gave her when she was born, an heirloom, and told such a lovely story about deciding she wanted her grand baby to have it. So nice, we all got a bit choked up when that happened. Of course, Mimmy was there too, fresh off the plane from Ohio and Megan was so happy all day long, saying things like "my girl is going to have such amazing women in her life". Today Megan told me she was going to throw me a party for being me.. Can we get over the amount of love here? Hot damn.

Cupcake Party!

Seth is leaving CalArts next Friday. That's a bummer because Seth is a very amusing coworker and friend. I will miss him, and all of his inappropriate yet "smokin' hot" burns. (That's when he insults us).

Cammie and Claire!

Claire and Cammie had their shows last week and we went to the opening! Maybe I should say I dragged both my jetlagged and my eight months pregnant BFFs to the opening, but that would be a very highly dramatized version of what happened. I can safely say I dragged them to go hang out in the studios after, but they were really excited to go see some art. Viet first, CalArts second, bed third. It was a fun night and Hanburger's second to last out on the town, before getting the news that these last two weeks are to be spent entirely horizontally. But man, I am sooooo exited for this baby to come! I just cannot wait to meet her. Congratulations to Claire and Cammie on their amazing shows, and congratulations to Katie for pulling off this whole pregnancy thing with endless style and grace.

An Old School Birthday Bash

Brian and Maeghan and Mae were all here this weekend from New York! It was Honor's birthday on Friday and Brian's on Saturday, so we celebrated them together much like we used to in the old Baltimore days. The Westminster dog show was watched, incredibly funny stories were rehashed, and presents were opened... my favorite of which was Jack and Megan's gift to Brian, a figurine of Jesus playing basketball. Brian told so many stories that just had us all rolling on the floor laughing. He is truly hilarious. It was a perfectly nostalgic night. Hope you guys had a great time on your birthdays.
