I went to an event at the new public arts high school in Los Angeles, which is called Public School #9. It's right on Caesar Chavez on the border of Echo Park and Chinatown, and architecturally it's really something else, for a high school. The coolest thing ever happens at this place too they have an open mic lunch hour every Friday!! And kids can totally get up and play music or say stuff or do spoken word or whatever they want. Everyone gets on the lunch tables and goes nuts and cheers and dances. It's super rad, like they have such a voice. I am totally into public high school #9.
