I'm flipping through the winter Urban Outfitter and what do I see? In the womens section? My trademark gold MENS Timex Indiglow watch. Which was $17 at WalMart when my dear friend Seth bought it for me and is being sold for a whopping $52 by UO. What a frickin rip off of my style and other people's money. You know what else really sucks is that now all these people are going to have it and it won't be cool anymore. I swear someone at UO is watching me because in like 2005 I bought this big old baseball t-shirt with Marc Bolan on it, white with black 3/4 sleeves. I cut and sewed it down to be my size and wore it non stop and people would always say how awesome it was. Then about 2 years ago I was in an Urban Outfitters on Long Island and I was looking at a table of all these folded T-shirts and on the lower shelf, there it was: a stack of about 20 or more of my Bolan black and white baseball tee, in tiny sizes, with the exact screen-print on it. I actually shuddered. Last winter I wanted a pair of black lace up ankle boots so bad I searched all over NY and LA and finally ended up buying a pair of paddock boots at an equestrian store in Texas and now what does UO have peppering the shoe section?Lace up ankle horse boots! I swear. And on a side note can we also talk about the bastardization of the Holga camera? A plastic toy camera which they sell for almost $100 and can be purchased in museum stores and art suppliers for under thirty? It's criminal. Kind of makes me want to return the $180 worth of clothes I bought from them yesterday.
